The Problem of Enlarged Prostate Gland
Enlarged prostate gland is a common condition in older men. As a person grows older, the size of prostate gland grows more than its normal size. In most cases, prostate enlargement is not a serious problem and there is nothing to worry about. It is usually due to aging and there may not be any other underlying cause to this problem. However, there are a number of side effects arising out of enlarged prostate gland which can cause difficulties to the patient.
Side Effects Associated With Enlarged Prostate
The most common side effect of an enlarged prostate is urination problem. As the prostate gland enlarges, it presses against urinary track causing a minor blockage. Due to this blockage, urine may not flow as easily or freely as before in the patient. So the person will feel the urge to urinate frequently. Moreover the person will have difficulty in stopping urination completely.
This problem can cause difficulties in the life of a person. It is not a dangerous condition but an extremely uncomfortable one. If this condition is not treated in early stages, the problem can worsen. The patient can take medicines prescribed by doctor in order to treat this condition. In some rare cases, surgery might be needed if the problem becomes severe.
